There are many different extensions available right now. For businesses, we recommend a .com, .co.uk or .biz suffix.

Keep it Short

It is possible to register some domain names with up to 63 characters, but you should keep in mind that it needs to be catchy and people need  to remember it. Try to register the shortest name that your customers and visitors will associate with your Website and keep it relevant to your business name or product. The general rule of thumb is to keep it under seven characters. (Not including the suffix.). Avoid using hyphens and try not to join words togethr to create double characters, for example, biggreatwall.com.

Register Your Domain NOW

Once you have thought of a name you must register it as soon as possible, or risk getting stuck with "the-domain-name-that-no-one-wanted.net". You do not have to have a web designer or web master or an ecommerce system... you don't even need a web page. Just go here and  type the domain name into the availability checker to see if it's still available. Try it out now and register before you lose out on the  name you really want.

One May Not Be Enough

In many cases it's a good idea to register similar domain names, particularly if you own a trademark for that name. If you have "yourname.com", then also register "yourname.co.uk" so no one else gets it. You should register your full company name too, just in caser you need a corporate web page or email address later. Some people even register common misspellings of their company's name so that if your customer mispells the name they still find your site . You don't even need a separate web page for each domains, many domains can point to the same website using domain name mappings or web forwarding  which is available to set up in all our control panels.

Character Types

Domain names can only use letters, numbers, and dashes (hyphens). Spaces and symbols are not allowed. Also, domain names are not case sensitive.

Don't spend large amounts of €€€'s
